Privacy Policy
Which details we gather, our reasons, where they are kept and what you can do about them. It describes only what the site genuinely does.

1. Who is responsible
The operator of this website decides how personal data on ovazforsilver.com is used and is therefore the data controller. Reach us through the contact form, or send any privacy request by email [email protected] or our contact form.
2. Details we gather
Just visiting and playing
- Your “I’m 18 or over” confirmation lives in your browser’s local storage and is never transmitted to us.
- A record of games you opened lately and a visit timer stay in your browser alone (the Cookie Policy says more).
- So that the site stays secure and working, the servers of our hosting provider keep everyday technical logs, for example IP address, time, pages requested and browser type.
Registering with email
- Your first and last name, email address and date of birth, with the date of birth used to confirm you are 18 or over.
- Your password, kept only as a one-way scrambled “hash” and never in the form you typed it.
- Technical account records: the date you joined, your latest sign-in, how many sign-in attempts have failed (five wrong tries pause sign-in for 15 minutes) and, while a reset is outstanding, a hashed reset code with its expiry time.
Signing in with Google
- Your browser loads Google’s sign-in script only once you click “Continue with Google”, and you then sign in within a Google window. Google gives us your name, verified email address and Google account ID, and our server checks the sign-in directly with Google.
- We then ask for your date of birth and for confirmation that you are 18 or over and in the UK, and we keep the same details as described above, though no password is involved.
Contacting us
- When you use the Contact or Support forms, we receive your name, email address, topic and message, and these are emailed to our support inbox via PHPMailer.
- Our server writes a brief log line for every attempt, holding only the date, which form was used, the topic and whether the email went out. Your name, email address and message are not placed in that log.
- If you request a password reset, we email the account’s address a link that works for one hour.
Card or bank details are never requested or stored, as nothing on the site costs money.
3. Things we do not do
- There are no adverts on the site, and no advertising cookies or trackers.
- No analytics tools run here, and we do not build profiles of you.
- Your information is never sold, and we send no marketing emails. You will only get replies to messages you sent and password resets you asked for.
- No third-party fonts are loaded, because our fonts come from our own domain.
4. Where data is kept and for how long
- Account details are stored on our server as a protected per-account file (there is no database) that cannot be opened from the web. They remain until you delete the account in My account or ask us to do so.
- Messages arrive by email and stay in our support inbox only for as long as we need them to handle your request and anything that follows.
- Browser storage (age confirmation, recent games, notice choice) remains on your device until you clear it, whereas the visit timer vanishes when you close the tab.
- Server logs are held by our hosting provider for a limited time according to its own routines.
5. Why we use it
| Purpose | Information | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Running your account and letting you sign in | Name, email, password hash, Google ID, sign-in records | Performing our agreement with you |
| Checking that you are 18 or over | Date of birth, age confirmation | Legitimate interests (keeping the site adults-only) and legal obligations |
| Replying to messages and resetting passwords | Name, email, topic, message | Legitimate interests (responding to you) and performing our agreement |
| Keeping the site secure and working | Failed-sign-in counts, server logs, session cookie | Legitimate interests |
| Remembering your age check and recent games on your own device | Browser storage | Strictly necessary / your own device settings; see the Cookie Policy |
6. Who else handles it
- Email delivery provider. Brevo, an SMTP email service, carries form messages and reset emails to our inbox and to yours.
- Google, but only when you pick Google sign-in, in which case Google’s own privacy policy applies.
- Game developers. Their games run inside our pages from our own domain and may store their own settings or credit balances in your browser. Your account details are not passed to them.
- Hosting provider, which holds the site and its logs on our behalf.
- Public authorities, where the law demands it.
Some of these providers might handle data outside the UK. If so, they ought to apply the safeguards the law requires.
7. Your choices and rights
UK data protection law lets you request a look at the data we hold on you, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to how it is used, and obtain a portable copy. You can remove your account yourself at any time in My account, which deletes it from our server. For any other request, contact us by email [email protected] or our contact form (choose “Privacy question”).
Should you be unhappy with how we treat your information, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Adults only
This site is for adults of 18 and over alone, and we do not knowingly gather information from anyone younger. If you believe an under-18 holds an account, tell us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this page
If the way the site treats your information changes, we will update this page, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
